Today after a car club meeting at a local specialist, I headed over to the Sydney Motorsports Park at Eastern Creek to see the first Ducatista Riders Festival.
Ducatista is a group of Ducati fans that appears to be a growing band of riders with a strong social media presence. Mother Nature wasn’t kind however it didn’t dampen the spirits or enthusiasm of the attendees. It was spitting with rain until I got to the main entrance to the Amaroo Circuit at the back of the park. Then with a couple of lightning bolts and thick, black cloud the heavens opened and it hammered down!
There were loads of bikes there and the event was supported by quite a few vendors offering a range of specialist equipment or services and I’m sure that there would have been twice as many attendees had the weather forecast been better. Frasers had their truck there with some clothing, a mortgage broker had a stand, so did BMR Automotive with some reworked cars – a Maserati GranCabrio Stradale and a BMW. There were plenty of food trucks and a busy pit lane for the track work.
What I like about heading to a bike event – and especially a Ducati one – is that you will not see two bikes the same. Every bike has something added or modified the moment it leaves the forecourt! This gives you a great few hours talking to the owners about what they have done and why.
I’m looking forward to the next one!
