Ep 168 AMHF Geoff Piggott – Chief Operating Officer

August 22, 2025 by sjw Leave a Comment

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to interview Geoff Piggott in his capacity as the Chief Operating Officer for the Australian Motor Heritage Foundation.

The focus of the interview was the Economic Value Study that came from research undertaken by the Foundation. This study should be important reading for anyone servicing the automotive industry and especially all levels of Government.

It highlights the benefits to the economy of having so many historic road and race machines still being used and looked after by a range of specialists as well as mainstream parts suppliers. The older vehicles enable younger people to learn skills that will help them in their career and Geoff makes a very good point about the mental health benefits of driving and owning a classic vehicle!

If you’d like to hear about Geoff’s historic racing, then scroll down to Episode 132 on the podcast page where he talks about his 1958 MG ARA Special.

Marques

Veritas

The Veritas marque was founded as a way to manufacture racing cars in Germany at a time when that country was banned from international motorsport. It was a short-lived exercise.
