Episode 197 includes interviews from the 100th Anniversary celebration of the Maserati Trident logo.
The event was held at Maserati Sydney in Waterloo in Sydney on a chilly July night and celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Trident logo, created by Mario, one of the Maserati brothers – an artist rather than an engineer.
In 1926 the Tipo 26 was the first Maserati to receive the logo and finished with a class win at that year’s Targa Florio. All cars after that displayed the famous Trident that comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna, Maserati’s home town.
Maserati also launched two new supercars: the MCPura and GT2 Stradale (the feature image) and Club Maserati Australia were on hand with four classics – 1960s Quattroporte and Ghibli, a 1972 Bora and a 90s Shamal.
I talk with:
Grant Barling, GM for Maserati Australia and New Zealand.
Andrew Dunne with his Quattroporte.
Vince Nicita and his Bora.
Sid Davenport who brought the Shamal.
