If you have been reading the newspapers or reading articles on the Internet you may have heard that the east side of Australia has had a heat wave which unfortunately resulted in many homes being lost in out-of-control fires.
On Saturday, I did a run out over the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, for a reconnaissance for a club run in a few months. I was heading out through country roads towards Orange and due to the potential heat I left home early morning.
It was a godd run and I found some great roads, however the temperature rose quickly during the late morning and then as I was heading home mid afternoon across the mountain, I had to take a photo of my dashboard:
I have never been in, or seen, temperatures this high and I was thankful having a good air conditioning in the car!
I was expecting the temperatures to drop as I headed towards the coast however it didn’t – I think it was one of the hottest days on record for this part of the country.
