I caught up via Zoom with Geoffrey Bott, a pioneer in classic car rally events. He was the instigator behind the Repco Mountain Rally in the 90s, working closely with the Jaguar Drivers Club to develop and run the events as Clerk of the Course before becoming a competitor – and winner – himself. Geoffrey has had decades of experience in organising and competing in classic car rallies.
We talk about the Repco Mountain Rally, his love of Jaguars including one called “Arthur” – listen in to find out why it earned that nickname! Geoffrey also had a rare Hunter Coupe some years ago, a car that I wasn’t aware existed until a few months ago and it has nothing to do with Hillmans.
As Geoffrey was also a founding member of the Classic Rally Club, we also talk about that club and the events that are organised across the Eastern Seaboard of Australia.
