Blackhawk Cars ‘n’ Coffee

February 3, 2015 by sjw 1 Comment

Nearly 800 cars were at this months Cars ‘n’ Coffee at Blackhawk Plaza in Danville, North California on the 1st February. The event is run with the Blackhawk Auto Museum which is an annual pilgrimage for me. The museum constantly rotates the cars on show and many of them are one off’s or prototypes. There is also a good selection of 50s and 60s Ferraris, Astons and other European metal alongside the enormous cars produced in the US at the same time.

The event is held on the first Sunday of each month and starts at 8am. I got in a queue of delectable machines on arrival, a bit embarrassing when you are in a rental Hyundai! By 8:30am the car park was rapidly filling up and even when I left around 10am there were still cars coming in!

Below is a selection of photos of the cars and some from the auto museum.

For anyone going to be in San Francisco over the next month, take a note of the following dates:

7th February – a talk by ex F1 racer Brett Lunger.

7th March – a talk by Howden Ganley, also ex F1 and sportscars.

Both are part of the Saturday Morning Speaker Series and should be great events.

Marques

Veritas

The Veritas marque was founded as a way to manufacture racing cars in Germany at a time when that country was banned from international motorsport. It was a short-lived exercise.
